20 Side Hustles for the Desperate

If your like me then you know that providing for your family, feeding your kids, and making sure they have everything they need from clothes to school supplies to fun days out literally drain your pockets. And if your income can barely support that or leaves you with little to nothing after you pay your bills then you know the struggle. With increasing debt and taxes to pay where is the money for you or you and your significant other to do things you guys want to do? Like going out on dates, or sitting at home with a nice expensive bottle of wine. What about a vacation? Life is meant to be more than just go to work and die. Financial freedom doesn’t have to occur when your old and your kids are fully grown. We need to be investing, saving and having fun at the same time WHILE WE ARE YOUNG. Wake up you say? Ok fine. I made this post for people looking to supplement their income. You might be going through a rough patch or just a product of systemic poverty. Either way, I hope these ideas help someone on this planet.

I am going to list all the different jobs I have come across or has crossed my mind in hopes of supplementing my income. Beware some of these might not be legit and some are totally morbid. But hey, money is money if your desperate enough. Some of these I listed for humor, but if your serious about it, go for it ! To each their own.

1. Sign holder
Hey. It’s a job. Would suck in extreme hot and/or cold weather though.

2. Online surveys
These are so annoying. You take these 20 minute to an hour surveys and get like $1 at most. You would have to dedicate ALOT of time to actually made some cash. Then the ones that actually offer $10 or more you don't even qualify for. My advice? Start lying saying you have the chronic illness they want to survey you for and just bullcrap your way through until you hit jackpot.

3. Rideshare: Uber/Lyft/Taxicab/ Turo
In big cities like Vegas you can actually make some decent money. You also have to put in the time and gas. Good thing is you can make your own hours. With Turo you can put your own vehicle up for rent and set your own prices and rules.

4. Digital Marketing: Blogging/ affiliate marketing/ sponsoring brands (UGC)/ YouTube, Content creation, Online Influencer
These are tricky because they take time to get the real cash flow in. And you also need a large audience base or potential customers so lots of marketing is needed on social media platforms. If your interested in starting a blog and monetizing it, think of it as starting a business or brand. Your going to need to invest in it. You will need to buy your own domain which is pretty much having your own website without the (.blogspot or .wordpress) in it. Affiliate marketing and sponsoring is basically making a profit by advertising others products and if they make a sale using your affiliate link you get a commission off of it. You see this a lot on social media, especially the popular influencers who are brand ambassadors for various brands and products. “Get 10% off using my code IDGAF” and so forth. So if you already have more than 10,000 subscribers or followers this will be a piece of cake. Platforms such as google Adsense and others pay per click and/or sales but you have to reach a certain quota in order to be qualified. I know "digital marketing" is very trendy right now with all the MRR and PLR courses and templates out there. It is a MLM - multi level marketing platform and several "scammers" are out there. Basically these courses teach you how to create "faceless accounts" - for us camera shy people, and how to sell digital prodcuts & leverage social media marketing. I will go more in depht in another blog post. I made a beacons & stan store myself! Yes im hopping aboard this money train! Check it out here: Stan Store for my faceless page - https://stan.store/Roadtobillionairestatus Beacons link in bio for my main page - https://beacons.ai/nursebogus

5. Selling courses/eBooks
Udemy and Coach.me are websites where you can sell courses and offer coaching services. You can talk about anything you think is within your expertise and charge people to take the course! Selling ebooks on Amazon Kindle Direct have also shown to generate quite an income. I see this mostly with bloggers blogging about how to start a blog and make money. They usually generate all their "blogging" income through courses, ebooks, sponsors and affiliate links.

**Sex sells... warning:the following are jobs in the sex industry:

6. Webcam model
Like the title says, your a model on webcam performing for your customers. Now when I say performing I mean masturbation. When your just starting out they tell you that you can only do what your comfortable doing, but if you want to make $2,000 a week like the top performers you better pick a good pornstar name (and some sex toys!). Couples are welcome too! Some websites for cam models are chaturbate and streamates. (You can also google more, there are a ton!). Some even have a physical studio with camera & eqippment. You usually charge per minute, ametuers start at about $3-4 per minute so make sure you make yourself entertaining! There is also a public group chat or private chat where customers can "tip" with virtual cash called "Gold". You do owe a percentage of your income to whatever platform you use. There is an option to "block out" your profile to certain States if your afraid of being recognized. "Onlyfans" is another trending platform.

FYI - many cam agencies promote on porn websites under "video girls" or "chat with girls" tabs.

7. Swingers Party Host
I live in Vegas and I've legit seen job posts on Craiglist for a swingers party host. From what I saw they make $75 per party they host. "Must be comfortable with their lifestyle". Or pretend to be.

8. Amateur Pornstar
Seriously, this is becoming increasingly popular. You make an account and can get subscribers who can tip and send you money as well as get paid per views. Perfect for you and your partner if you wish to have a couples account. Make sure you have HD. You don't even necessarily have to show your face. You can apply on any porn site - Pornhub is quite popular.

9. Stripper/ Exotic Dancer
I know we have all thought about this at some point. Probably even took it seriously, but never followed through. Well now is your chance. Empty all your self respecting doubts and audition at the nearest club. Some even hire girls as young as 18 (usually these clubs don't sell liquor). Its an independent contractor job so your not going to get paid hourly. You have to pay a house fee to the club because you are using their space to make money, but all the tips you get go to you. Your co-workers are your competition so make sure you know how to defend yourself if need be. Your looks have to be on point and your body has to be hairless. So if your serious about it go down to Sephora or Ulta Beauty and Victoria's secret before your audition. Also,  be careful of PIMPS trying to make you their hoe. Strip clubs are their hunting grounds.

10.  Escort
Prostitution is illegal so make sure you don't get caught! Stay safe and get checked regularly for STDs. There are several escort sites where you dont even have to sleep with people, just be their "arm candy". Websites like nameyourprice.com for example offer this.

11. Sugar Baby
It's not as easy as it sounds because you actually have to find the sugar daddy. A legit site is Seeking Arrangement, you get a free membership if you use a college email. Otherwise usually the sites were you have to pay for a membership are usually the legit ones. Or just go on regular dating sites and limit your search to older adults with income greater than 90K per year. Be assertive and don't fall for "whatsapp" scams. Never give out your personal information to a stranger. Accept only cash. Be up front with your wants. Act like you already live a glamorous life and a man won't change that, only add to it. Bonus points if your drop dead gorgeous. These affulent men/women care about appearences. Half of them are married and want to be "discreet".

12. Snapchat buddies/OnlyFans
This is similar to #6 but using the Snapchat app or Onlyfans account. Your followers pay a monthly subscription to see you play with yourself on snapchat and post revealing images. You make good money by building a fan base and promote, promote, promote!

13. Couponing
Selling products for cheaper than their normal value can come in handy, especially when you got them for free or at a lower price.

14. Dog walking/sitting
Rover.com and Care.com offer you to make an account and people can hire you for dogwalking and dog sitting services.

15. Caregiving/babysitting
Care.com, Kindly care, Sittercity.com or even just posting online that your free to babysit or care for elders for some cash can earn a decent income. Especially if your cheap. You can also apply to be a caregiver at assisted living facilities, some don't require any experience. A good place to start if your considering a career in healthcare. Just know you are going to be dealing with poop and all sorts of bodily fluids. Just a heads up!

16. What are you good at? Charge people for that.
Freelancing services such as writing or graphic or web design on Fiverr, or online is a good way to make some extra cash. Freelancer.com and other websites allow you to bid for jobs and earn income.

17. Sell drugs
If you have connections and are not afraid and have nothing to lose go for it. You might go to jail though so be prepared for that. You can start with social media by saying you sell weed or whatever (I would not recommend this unless your very careful, my ex got robbed at gunpoint doint this). Use appropriate slang. "I got that gas on deck" or something. Pros - no tax!

*in all seriousness though, the cannabis business has been booming! Only in states where it is fully legalized though. However, opening up a dispensary will cost a ALOT of money. You would need about half a million dollars in capital just to get started. Or you could work as a Budtender.

18. Rent your room/house
If you have extra space in your house/apartment/condo, rent it out! You can post your posting on Facebook (there are even Facebook groups specifically for renting and searching for roommates in your area), and various websites. Be careful giving out personal information and make sure you do background checks on your roommate(s)! You can even list it on airbnb. I created an Airbnb 101: A comprehensive guide ebook that goes over everything to start a short term rental.

19. Sell old/used stuff
There are several apps such as Let Go and Offer Up that let you sell stuff online. Facebook marketplace is also a place to put stuff up for sale. You can sell anything from furniture to clothes to old appliances and electronics. Someone, somewhere will buy it! (might take some time though). Poshmark allows you to sell branded items - purses/clothes.

20. Get a second or third job in retail or fast food.
They will hire almost anybody. I should have probably listed this one first lol.

Anyways hope you got a good laugh and maybe some ideas. If you come up with any other ideas to earn some money, leave a comment !
